SAIC Motor, the global automotive group behind MG Motor, has claimed the 138th spot in the 2025 Fortune Global 500 rankings, achieving USD 87.2 billion in revenue for 2024. This marks the company’s 21st consecutive inclusion, reflecting its enduring global strength and robust performance in markets such as the Middle East.
As the only Chinese manufacturer to sell over 1 million NEVs and 1 million units overseas for three straight years, SAIC’s international success has been central to MG’s rising profile in the region. Since its return to the Middle East in 2015, MG has swiftly earned a place among the GCC’s top five best-selling brands, with comparable gains seen in Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Morocco.

Tom Lee, Managing Director of MG Motor Middle East, said: “This global milestone reflects the strong foundations that support MG Motor globally and regionally. SAIC’s backing is key to reinforcing MG’s commitment to bring innovation, value, and a premium ownership experience to customers across the Middle East.”
In the first six months of 2025, SAIC delivered 2.2 million vehicles worldwide, including over 1.3 million from its own brands such as MG. Despite global headwinds, the company achieved 646,000 NEV sales and 494,000 exports. Within the Middle East, MG recorded 39,623 units sold in the same period.
Consumer appetite for smart, value-rich vehicles that provide cutting-edge features, comfort, and performance continues to drive MG’s growth. Flagship offerings like the MG RX9, MG 7, and MG HS have been particularly well-received, supported by a comprehensive dealer and service infrastructure.
SAIC has set its sights on launching 17 new models globally over the next three years, with several destined for Middle Eastern roads across SUV, sedan, and NEV lines, strengthening MG’s relevance and market share.
With more than 6 million vehicles sold overseas and operations spanning over 170 countries, SAIC’s worldwide reach is a cornerstone of MG’s success in the Middle East, fostering trust and supporting the region’s sustainable mobility ambitions.
